Hair transplant

Hair transplant: restore density with your own hair

A hair transplant redistributes your own follicles to areas with less density —hairline, crown or scars— to restore natural, permanent hair. Always starting from a dermatological diagnosis of the cause of the loss.

What is a hair transplant?

It involves moving follicles from a donor area (usually the back of the head, resistant to loss) to areas that have lost density. Because it's your own hair, the result is natural and permanent.

Before transplanting, it's essential to diagnose the cause of the loss: not every alopecia is treated with surgery. Starting from a trichological study avoids transplanting onto a process that first needs to be stabilized.

Who is it for?

  • Stabilized androgenetic alopecia (hairline, crown).
  • Receding frontal hairline.
  • Scars or hairless areas from prior trauma or surgery.
  • Patients with a good donor area, assessed in consultation.

The technique: FUE and prior diagnosis

Follicular units are extracted one by one (FUE) and implanted respecting the hair's natural orientation and density. It's an outpatient procedure under local anesthesia.

The transplant is usually combined with medical treatment to slow underlying loss and protect the hair that hasn't been transplanted.

Recovery and results

In the first few days small scabs appear and fall off on their own. The transplanted hair sheds in the following weeks and grows back steadily from the third or fourth month.

The full result is visible between 9 and 12 months, with hair you cut and comb completely normally.

Frequently asked questions

Answering your questions

Is a hair transplant permanent?

Yes. The transplanted hair comes from an area resistant to loss, so it stays stable and grows naturally.

Why is a diagnosis needed before transplanting?

Because not every alopecia is treated with surgery. Diagnosing the cause lets us stabilize the underlying loss and avoid transplanting onto an active process.

How long does the transplanted hair take to grow?

It sheds in the first weeks (this is normal) and grows back from the third or fourth month. The full result is visible between 9 and 12 months.

Do I need to follow a treatment afterward?

In most cases, yes, to protect the non-transplanted hair and slow the underlying loss. It's assessed individually in consultation.

Do you see patients from other Mexican states?

Yes. The initial assessment can be done by video consultation from any state, and the procedure is performed in person at the Guadalajara clinic.
